These embroidered works have been consuming much of my creative energy since 2012. Though the process can be long and complex, I have ultimately been gladdened by the results. I source these images from the internet, rummaging through paper and wallpaper shops and doodling with brushes and ink. I synthesise them on my iPad to create the final designs, which are sent to the embroiderers. For the existing collection, I sized up over one hundred and fifty 8 by 10 inch linens and under-painted them. I use oils, acrylics and spray paint via stencils. I want each image to have a different color combination and feel. I select the thread colours for each linen - from hundreds of available thread colours. Each linen is sent with precise instructions to the embroiderers, and, after several months, they are stretched and framed. I hope you enjoy the results.
